The wait is almost over! A new season of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood will begin Aug. 10. Season 8 will start with a bang, delivering two episodes on its first day of airing!

The first episode, “Daniel Asks Before Touching Someone Else/Jodi Asks Before Touching Someone,” teaches kids the importance of consent. While having fun on the playground, Daniel and Prince learn to ask before touching their classmates. To remember the lesson, preschoolers watching the show will learn the song, “Before You Touch Someone, Ask If It’s Okay.”

The second episode, “Daniel’s Morning Routine with Grandpere/Miss Elaina Gets Ready for Bed,” emphasizes the importance of morning and bedtime routines. Daniel is ready to head to the pool for his swim lesson, but Grandpere walks him through his morning routine beforehand. Viewers also get to join Elaina as she walks through her bedtime routine, which includes a new lullaby.

The new season of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood will also feature a beloved song, “Grownups Come Back,” in the episode “Grownups Come Back to the Music Shop/Katerina’s Mommy Comes Back Home.” It is the perfect tune to help the kids prepare for mom or dad’s arrival!

It is not just Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood returning to PBS Kids next month! A new episode of Donkey Hodie will launch Aug. 17 called “Donkey’s Eye Exam/The Music Marathon,” where Panda helps a nervous Donkey prepare for her first eye exam. Sound familiar? That’s because the episode is a nod to the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood episode when Mister Rogers visits kids at the eye doctor and teaches them what to expect.

Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Donkey Hodie both stream on PBS Kids. To learn more about the upcoming episodes, check out https://pbskids.org/daniel and https://pbskids.org/donkeyhodie.
