Disney Interactive‘s Disney Infinity allows players ages 6 and up to use real-world interactive figures, including power discs and play set pieces to unlock adventudns based on Disney and Pixar films inside the game. Players solve puzzles, explore iconic locations, and customize their virtual “Toy Box,” which allows characters such as Sulley, Captain Jack Sparrow, and Mr. Incredible to all play together in the same game.
Disney Infinity is a video-game-mixed-with-physical-toys experience, where players place real-world interactive figures—characters, power discs, and play set pieces—on the Dinsey Infinity Base, activating story-driven adventures in the game worlds. The cool thing about Disney Infinity is that it takes characters that kids already know and love and allows them to go on new adventures with them, as opposed to just going through the movie plot they’ve already seen. It shows kids story telling, and by allowing them to customize their own Toy Box, it allows them to become the storyteller and sparks creativity among characters and worlds they already love.
Disney Infinity is also more than just a video game. The interactive figures serve as collectibles or physical toys—and are detailed likenesses of the characters they represent. The game introduces an all-new universe, featuring a toy-inspired art style where multiple Disney franchises and characters can exist and interact in one game and across Xbox360, PS3, Wii, Wii-U, 3DS, PC, and online platforms, as well as on smart devices including tablets and mobile phones.
The Disney Infinity experience truly opens up a toy box and brings the characters to life—and it’s featured on our 2013 Holiday Toy Insider Hot 20 list!
