Avengers, assemble … for healthy eating!
Marvel Entertainment and Dole Food Company have teamed up to design the Dole Healthy Heroes, Assemble! program. The 9-month initiative will recognize heroes in different communities while encouraging healthy eating habits.
The program takes inspiration from Marvel superheroes‘ attainable traits. For example, Spider-Man is responsible; Iron Man is inventive; Ant-Man is small, but mighty; Black Panther is loyal; Black Widow is athletic; and Groot is always eager to lend a helping hand. The program will feature Marvel character-inspired recipes, original DOLE banana stickers and pineapple tags, digital downloads, in-store activations, and motivational prizes awarded to inspiring heroes.
Fans can look for 26 collectible fruit stickers/tags in grocery stores, including commemorative stickers featuring Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness after it premieres on May 6 and Thor: Love & Thunder after it premieres on July 8.
Dole’s Nutrition and Health Communications Manager Melanie Marcus created 20 original Dole recipes inspired by Marvel heroes that include entrées, side dishes, desserts, salads, and smoothies rich in fruits and vegetables. These super recipes will be released throughout the year until September.
Plus, who doesn’t love a contest? Everyday heroes can submit their stories on social media for a chance to win $1,000 scholarships and other prizes in Dole’s Celebrate Super Heroes Contest. The contest will launch in late March and more details will be announced soon.
