This year, SEGA is celebrating Sonic’s birthday with a special art exhibit!
The company is teaming up with the creative production brand iam8bit to host a free art collection titled 35 Years of Speed: The Sonic Art Exhibit. Families can relive their favorite moments from the video games and movies while learning more about the story of Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends.
The exhibit will feature original artwork curated from SEGA’s archives, as well as more than 30 pieces by renowned artists, each honoring and reimagining special moments in the franchise’s 35-year history.
The companies are also inviting fans to join in the celebration with their Sonic the Hedgehog fan art showcase. From now until August 3, fans ages 18 and up can check out the official submission rules and submit their artwork for consideration at sonic35.iam8bit.com.
Some of the chosen pieces will also be featured on SEGA’s social media channels and website, and a small selection will be featured in the 35 Years of Speed: The Sonic Art Exhibit.
35 Years of Speed will debut later this year during PAX West (Sept. 4-6) in Seattle and later in the month in Los Angeles (Sept. 26-27). To learn more about the art exhibit, parents and caregivers can race over to sega.com.
