Start your engines because Milestone and Mattel have revealed the sequel to the popular video game Hot Wheels Unleashed. Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 —Turbocharged arrives with new gameplay mechanics, terrains, and vehicle types and categories.

Having a fast car is no longer the only key to success in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 — Turbocharged, as two new moves have been added to gameplay to add an extra layer of depth to competition. With the power of boost, players will be able to jump or double jump at any moment, serving as the ideal tool for overtaking opponents or navigating tight spaces by avoiding obstacles. Not only can players enhance their racing skills with these new moves, but they can also discover shortcuts or access previously unreachable sections of the track. The brand-new lateral dash allows players to shift to the right or left, colliding with opponents on either side of their vehicle. Using this maneuver, players can strategically force opponents out of bounds or use them to bounce within the confines of the orange plastic truck.

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 — Turbocharged introduces five completely new environments. Players can transport to an arcade reminiscent of the era of coin-operated games, a backyard of a residential house, a mini golf course nestled within a Wild West township, a museum with reproductions of dinosaurs and other artifacts, and a gas station housing a once-tranquil diner serving juicy burgers. In addition, the game features the track room, which offers a special empty environment for players who prefer to unleash their creativity and design their own unique tracks.

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 — Turbocharged presents a vastly expanded lineup of 130 iconic vehicles from the Hot Wheels universe, including the introduction of classes such as ATVs and motorcycles. Each vehicle possesses a unique style based on the category to which it belongs. For instance, vehicles in the Rocket category have unmatched speed on straightaways, while vehicles in the Balanced category offer a perfect blend of speed and maneuverability.

The game also introduces a brand-new skill system, allowing players to customize their vehicles’ driving experience. Players can invest skill points in a skill tree consisting of three branches, each focusing on a different aspect. Lastly, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 —Turbocharged gives players the opportunity to create unique designs on their vehicles through the livery editor and the sticker editor.

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 — Turbocharged is available now for preorder on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game will launch on Oct. 19. Check out the trailer below for an extended look at gameplay!
