GBH Kids is helping families celebrate Juneteenth with a fresh mystery podcast to teach young listeners about the holiday’s heritage.
In partnership with PRX and PBS Kids, Keyshawn Solves It follows the story of a 10-year-old detective on a mission to nail down the culprit behind the missing bikes of his north Minneapolis neighborhood. Kids ages 5-9 can embark on this mystery with Kewshawn just in time for his community’s big Juneteenth celebration. The young detective is joined by his friend Kiki as they use a set of old keys to solve this holiday mystery.
The new, 8-episode podcast series is part of GBH Kids’ initiative to share stories of diverse experiences. Throughout Keyshawn’s sleuthing adventures, kids will learn more about the origins of Juneteenth and valuable lessons about topics like self-worth, resilience, and community. GBH Kids has also offered beloved, produced children’s’ shows Arthur and Molly of Denali, as well as kids’ podcasts like The Creeping Hour, Pinkalicious & Peterrific, Molly of Denali, and The Arthur Podcast.
Parents can sit down with their kids and listen to Keyshawn Solves It now with two new episodes launching every week on all major platforms.
