Mei Mei is a little bunny with a big dream: to make everyone happy with her music. She’s getting ready for her very first recital and is practicing hard to perform her best. At the recital, however, she makes a mistake and hits the wrong note! The story follows her journey to finding the right melody and believing in herself. The book will teach kids about the importance of learning from mistakes and trusting in their abilities to overcome similar situations.

“I’m so excited to now share Mei Mei the Bunny in storybook form! Mei Mei has been a part of my life for over the last few years, and opening up the world around her has been the most beautiful exploration,” Laufey says. “I hope that anyone at any age can find something in Mei Mei’s story that inspires them and connects them to the people in their lives.”

The artist has extended her connection with families beyond her music in recent years. Laufey launched The Laufey Book Club in 2022 to encourage a love for reading and established The Laufey Foundation last year to provide children with access to music and orchestra programs.

Mei Mei the Bunny is set to launch on April 21, but you can preorder it now at penguinrandomhouse.com.
