For years, preschool blocks have remained largely unchanged — colorful, chunky, fun — but ripe for a refresh. The new LeapBuilders line, from LeapFrog, puts a spin on classic block play by pairing it with technology and curriculum-based learning content. Designed to inspire kids’ creativity while encouraging fine motor skills and problem-solving, each LeapBuilders set includes double-sided learning blocks that work together with the interactive Smart Star cube, allowing kids to trigger lights and sounds and a host of learning content, including educational songs and phrases.
The centerpiece of the LeapBuilders collection, the LeapBuilders ABC Smart House is a 61-piece set packed with fun features for kids to express their creativity. With 20 double-sided learning blocks, kids will learn about letters, numbers, colors, animals, and shapes while the Smart Star cube provides encouraging words and sounds. When they press the Smart Star question button, kids will be tasked with requests to locate specific blocks, while the music button activates three melodies and plays three learning songs.
Right out of the box, kids can build the ABC Smart House in a variety of configurations, or use the blocks to craft original creations fueled by imagination.
The ABC Smart House can be combined with blocks from additional LeapBuilders sets to expand the creative possibilities for building, and additional blocks will unlock new sounds and phrases to power further learning.
Other themed LeapBuilders sets include the Food Fun Family Farm, a 50-piece set that teaches kids about animals and healthy foods; the 123 Counting Train, a 19-piece set that focuses on professions and numbers; and the Fruit Fun Elephant, a 21-piece set with blocks highlighting fruits, numbers, and colors.
This fall, the fun continues with additional LeapBuilders sets, including vehicles, pets, a castle, and more set to hit retailers everywhere.
