Have you ever heard a rabbit sing? It turns out, Bugs Bunny has quite the set of pipes and he’s putting them to good use in a new Looney Tunes musical coming soon to HBO Max and Cartoon Network.

Warner Bros. Animation is working on Bye Bye Bunny: A Looney Tunes Musical, an animated movie that will feature original song and dance numbers, as well as Looney Tunes twists on numbers from the Warner Bros. library of classic movie musicals. This will be the first-ever Looney Tunes original animated movie musical.

The story has a Broadway theme, following an exhausted Bugs Bunny as he decides it’s time to cash out of his successful and long-running Looney Tunes Broadway show to live life as a regular rabbit. When Daffy Duck makes a move to step into the lead role, he gets kidnapped by an obsessive fan with sinister plans. With his retirement derailed, Bugs takes off on a rescue mission to find Daffy with the help of his Looney Tunes co-stars, and maybe even find his joy of performing again.

Emmy award-winner Ariel Dumas will write the screenplay and lyrics, while Pulitzer Prize and Tony award-winner Tom Kitt will head music and orchestration. No release date has been announced yet.
