What do you get when you combine Monopoly and Scrabble? An even more exciting game from Winning Moves for family game night!

Designed for kids ages 8 and up, Monopoly Scrabble combines two of the most iconic board games of all time into one experience. To play Monopoly Scrabble, players must put down words using their tiles on the Scrabble section of the board. Each point players earn on the Scrabble board translates to how many places they move in the Monopoly section. To get properties, players must play words on property squares. However, other players can steal property by playing words on top of the same property square.

Unlike Monopoly, each color property only has one space on the board. Instead, players have more opportunities to land on Chance and Community Chest spaces. These cards are similar to Monopoly’s versions of them, sending players to different spots on the board, including jail, Free Parking, and Go.

The game seems intimidating at first, but kids will easily be able to pick up on the rules, especially if they’ve played Monopoly and Scrabble before.

Monopoly Scrabble is definitely a game more geared towards Scrabble fans than Monopoly fans. The game ends once a player runs out of tiles, which can be quick if you’re using big words. We only made it around the Monopoly section of the board a few times, so paying rent to other players wasn’t very common. The player who won our round of Monopoly Scrabble played the highest point words and made it past Go the most.

The best part about Monopoly Scrabble is that the game goes by pretty quickly. Unlike Monopoly, this game took us around 30 minutes to complete, making it perfect for a quick game night with the family.

Kids who are big fans of board games will especially love Monopoly Scrabble — it’s the perfect combination of the two games.

MONOPOLY SCRABBLE

This game combines elements of the Monopoly game with the crossword-building play of Scrabble. In place of rolling dice to move around the board, players build words and move ahead by their score. Features custom Community Chest and Chance cards.
