Parents, raise your hand if you know the struggle of trying to convince your kids to get dressed in the morning. Now put your hand down because maybe they’ll take inspiration from a naked mole rat who has decided it’s time to put some dang clothes on.
Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed is an animated rock opera that tells the tale of a sensitive, curious, and rockin’ naked mole rat named Wilbur (voiced by Jordan Fisher), who suddenly decides that his nudist days are over. Coming soon to Cartoonito on HBO Max, the musical movie is based on Mo Willems’ best-selling picture book of the same name. There was also a theatrical show based on the book that played in venues across the country.
Yvette Nicole Brown voices Grande, a member of mole rat society’s popular crowd and front mole of the Tunnel’s Rock Band “The Mole-ing Stones; Kate Micucci voices Tall, a rule-follower with a big heart; Kevin Michael Richardson plays Venti, a big lug that just wants to rock out with his bandmates in the nude; Carol Kane plays Grand-Mah, the larger-than-life-but-smaller-than-expected matriarch of the Mole Rat society; Ron Funches plays Les Pants, the weather-mole; Thomas Lennon plays Stark Naked, the newscaster; and Jenna Ushkowitz voices a jammin’ secret service mole.
