Earlier this year, the podcast studio Wondery and Dr. Seuss Enterprises teamed up to launch Tis the Grinch Holiday Podcast, a podcast starring everyone’s favorite fuzzy green Christmas thief. Now, a new season of the podcast will launch next fall.
Saturday Night Live (SNL) cast member James Austin Johnson is voicing the Grinch in the podcast, which features a talk show format with special guests including Olympic Gold Medalist Shawn Johnson East, WWE superstar Cody Rhodes, actress Skai Jackson, fellow SNL cast member Bobby Moynihan, and comedian and actor Patton Oswalt.
“The Grinch told me that he found being a talk show host was a surprisingly satisfying experience,” says Marshall Lewy, Chief Content Officer for Wondery in an interview with Variety. “Sure, he was a curmudgeon on set, but Tis The Grinch Holiday Podcast gave us all a chance to see the Grinch cracking jokes and hobnobbing with celebrities in a totally new medium. We look forward to bringing him back for more Grinchy snark next holiday season.”
Kids may be months away from hearing the Grinch on their favorite podcast streaming service, but it gives kids something to look forward to!
