The beloved characters of Sesame Street are hitting the stage this fall!
Rockefeller Productions is teaming up with Sesame Workshop to bring the world of Sesame Street to New York in an Off-Broadway show called Sesame Street: The Musical.
Directed and produced by Jonathan Rockefeller, the show features Sesame Street’s very own Elmo, Cookie Monster, Grover, Rosita, Bert, Ernie, The Count, Oscar the Grouch, Gabrielle, and Abby Cadabby. Some Honkers, Martians, and other favorites will also appear onstage in the musical. A variety of special guest stars from Broadway and beyond will join the musical fun, too.
The show will feature some of Sesame Street’s classic songs and new numbers written by some of Broadway’s brightest songwriters and composers. Kids and families will be able to sing, dance, and celebrate with their Sesame Street friends.
Sesame Street: The Musical will take the stage on Sept. 22 and will run through Nov. 27. Musical performances will take place at Theatre Row, at 410 West 42nd Street in New York City. Previews will be revealed starting on Sept. 8.
The creative staff, special celebrity guests, and other information will be released at a later date.
