AN AFFORDABLE ENTRY INTO THE WORLD OF HOBBY-GRADE R/C RACING

  • It’s durable and customizable
  • It comes with three batteries and three chargers
  • It’s super fast with a top speed of nearly 50 mph

This 1:16-scale all-wheel-drive R/C truck is designed to handle rugged terrain with ease and can drift, spin, and jump. The brushless motor powers it to a top speed of 47 mph. It has a 2.4 GHz trigger-style controller and comes with sand tires that can also run on snow. It comes complete with three batteries and three chargers, allowing the truck to run for up to an hour of playtime (20 minutes per battery). It comes with a miniature screwdriver, a wrench, and additional parts.

Kids who love vehicles and racing eventually reach a point when some of the more toyetic R/C offerings might feel a little underwhelming. However, making the jump into the world of hobby-grade R/C can be expensive and complicated. This is an option that doesn’t break the bank and is easy to use. It has a nice weight to it and the flexible body deters the impact cracking that more kid-focused R/Cs may experience upon crashing.

This R/C truck is manufactured by Su Chi Yu and is sold under a variety of brand names, including Mukola, ScharkSpark, and SunBaby. We recommend purchasing through a reputable seller, such as Amazon. Since this is designed for teens ages 14 and up, it’s not suitable for younger kids. While it’s water resistant, it’s not waterproof, so don’t crash it into the pool. The controller requires 3 AA batteries (not included) and the USB chargers do not include a power brick, so families will need to plug in with what they have at home.

Kids and kidults (grown-ups!) who want to enjoy the high-octane fun of R/C racing and take their first step into the larger world of customizable, high-speed vehicles that are a step above a “toy.”
