It’ll be a wonderful day in the neighborhood on Be My Neighbor Day. Fred Rogers Productions celebrates the 10th anniversary of its program initiative with a day filled with exciting family-centered activities.
Be My Neighbor Day is great for showing kids and families how to strengthen their communal bonds. Everyone can learn what it means to be a good neighbor by attending different events throughout Pittsburgh.
Families can have fun with activity-based celebrations hosted by PBS member stations. Free and open to the public, the day’s events will feature the WEDU PBS Kids Fun Zone, live performances, photo opportunities, game stations, and more. Kids will also have a chance to meet and greet their favorite PBS KIDS characters, including Daniel Tiger and Katerina Kittycat.
Even if they can’t attend the activities, kids can still celebrate by watching the “Neighbor Day” episode from Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. In this special episode, Daniel Tiger learns what it means to be a caring neighbor.
