If your kid wants to tap into their creative side without any limitations, activities included in LEGO’s free creativity workshops can be a great place to start!

The LEGO Group, the creators behind the LEGO pieces that might be scattered across your play room, is focusing on helping kids — especially young girls — feel confident in their art and desire to create. The More Than Perfect campaign, designed to help girls break free from the societal pressures of perfection and lean into their creativity, includes the free creativity workshops.

Every kid can participate in the workshops at select LEGO stores or online. The current themes include Space, Entertainment, Imagination, and Gaming, and each workshop is aimed at creators ages 6-12.

If you’re near a LEGO store, you might have the opportunity to attend a workshop in person. The first workshop will have an entertainment theme and will be on April 20 and April 21. Kids can build a photo frame that they can use to display a picture of their choosing! Store associates will be available to help your kids as they build. The in-store workshops will run from April to October. Each one is free, but you should book a place in advance online.

If your kid prefers to harness the power of creativity in their own space, they can attend an online workshop hosted by different innovators. The first host, dancer Dianne Buswell, will show viewers how to build a photo frame, name sign, and jewelry stand. This workshop is available now at lego.com.

Other online hosts include Space Communicator Alexandra Doten (known as Astro Alexandra) and gaming pioneer Kennedy (AKA Cozy K). These workshops, and the in-store workshops, are created to inspire girls to build and nurture creative confidence

Visit lego.com to book a spot at an in-store workshop. For more information about the More Than Perfect campaign, visit toybook.com.
