As a part of Hasbro’s 100th anniversary celebrations, the company held the Centennial Fan Choice Campaign, where kids and their families could vote on how $1 million would be donated to different charities. After more than two months of voting, Toys for Tots won the vote and Alan Hassenfeld and The Hassenfeld Family Foundation have donated $400,000 to the charity.
More than 34,000 fans voted for their favorite charities during the campaign. Other charities that got donations include Hasbro Children’s Hospital, which received $300,000; One Tree Planted, which received $200,000; and Games for Change, which received $100,000.
Hasbro has donated more than 8.4 million toys and games in the 27 years the company has partnered with Toys for Tots. During that time, they also worked together on natural disaster relief in Puerto Rico, Louisiana, and Florida.
