This year marks 75 years since the Tonka toy trucks first hit imaginary highways everywhere. To celebrate nearly a century of Tonka toughness, Basic Fun! is launching a year-long celebration that invites fans everywhere to participate.

Basketball star Shaquille O’Neal will kick off the festivities this March, with the Together We Tonka photo contest. Families are invited to share their favorite Tonka photos from the ‘40s to today, and the top 75 will be featured in Tonka’s Big Birthday Bash. Fans can upload as many photos as they want between Mar. 1-30: The only requirement is that they display their Tonka fun! Fans can also receive bonus points by sharing submissions on social media with the hashtag #Tonka75. Fans can upload their photos here for a chance to win $75 worth of Tonka merch!

This summer, the celebration will continue as O’Neal and 75 micro-influencer families post ideas and prizes to inspire other families to take a Tonka Playcation and put down their screens to play together with Tonka.

The Commemorative 1968 Tonka Mighty Dump Truck, which will be available this summer, features a fire red cab; an articulated, golden dump bed made of cold-rolled steel; and the commemorative 75th Anniversary badge. The Tonka Steel Classics Mighty Dump Truck (available now) is a 17-inch, cold-rolled steel dump truck. The Tonka Monster Metal Movers collection (available now) features a range of 3-inch service vehicles, such as garbage trucks. Kids can look for the Tonka Mighty Monster RC, Steel Dump Truck this fall, equipped with four-in-one monster action that can haul, dump, plow, and do 360-degree stunts. All new 2022 toy trucks will be available at major retailers nationwide.
