Young fans of the original Unicorn Academy books from author Julie Sykes are about to have a little more magic in their world. The new Unicorn Academy animated series is inspired by the books and will be full of friendship, lessons learned, and more. The series will debut on Netflix this Thursday, Nov. 2, kicking off with a 72-minute movie premiere followed by eight 22-minute episodes.
Kids can follow Sophia Mendoza as she finds herself accepted into the Unicorn Academy and paired with Wildstar the unicorn. She’ll need the help of friends like Ava and others if she wants to have any hope of defeating Queen Ravenzella. Can she balance schoolwork and trying to bond with her new unicorn, all on top of saving the world?
The series features a diverse cast of characters, including Sophia, her kooky best friend Ava Banji, the intelligent Layla Fletcher, athlete Isabel Armstrong, fashionista Valentina Furi, outgoing Rory Charmichael, and, of course, the many unicorns.
