In honor of Barbie’s 65th anniversary on March 9, Mattel revealed a partnership that could be considered paradise — literally.
Collaborating with Atlantis Paradise Island, the company will develop Barbie Bahamas Beach Vacation: Where Atlantis Dreams Come True. This immersive, Barbie-themed experience will debut Memorial Day weekend and last through the summer. From guest rooms and suites adorned with all things Barbie to activations, bespoke retail, and more, this will be Barbie’s first time in history in the Caribbean.Â
Besides lounging on the beautiful beaches of the Bahamas, there will be plenty of things to do and see for Barbies and Kens of all ages. Guests will be able to book Barbie-themed beachside guest rooms and cabanas that will incorporate elements and details that are iconic to all things Barbie. These include pink pillows, throw blankets, customized lounge chair cushions, and Cabana accessories.Â
The attraction itself is in The Royal, which is an icon of Atlantis and set against a backdrop of the largest open-air marine habitat in the world. There will be immersive playsets filled with vignettes perfect for Instagram ops, activity stations, portholes with mermaids, and Barbie boxes guests can pose in. There will even be a pink carpet and a Barbie ball pit.
The Sun & Ice cafe will join the attraction, complete with an exclusive Barbie-inspired menu. Guests can find desserts, cocktails, mocktails, and themed decor. For the little Barbie fans, Atlantis Kids Adventures will offer themed experiences such as cooking classes and activations.Â
Of course, the attraction wouldn’t be complete without the complimentary Barbie movie night programming both poolside and in the Atlantis Theater.
