Instead consuming technology, Pixi Kits allow kids to use technology to build their very own creations.
Poppy is a pink robotic rabbit kids can put together with the help of Ciela, the robotics-loving pixie. Ciela guides young engineers through the assembly and decoration of their electronic friend. Meant to help children in a variety of areas, including fine motor skills and comprehension of STEM concepts, Poppy is the first of three animals planned.
If the first stretch goal of $125,000 is reached, the prototype process will begin for Inky, a colorful chameleon whose construction introduces kids to basic sequence coding, allowing them to turn his LED lights on and off. The second stretch goal of $250,000 will begin the prototype process for Coco, a bird whose sound recording feature allows kids to record their own voices and hear their words sung back to them in several different harmonies.
Kickstarter donations range from $15 to $5,000 and prizes include a heart and gear emblem necklace, a T-shirt, Poppy himself, classroom bundles of 5 Poppy kits, and school district bundles of 50 Poppy kits.
